Floating in Sound: How a Gong Bath Helped Me Find Deep Relaxation
Sometimes life gets so loud that the only thing we need is silence… Or in my case the powerful vibrations of a gong bath. Curious and hoping to find some calm I decided to try a gong bath for the first time. I had heard about sound healing before but I wasn’t sure what to expect. A gong bath is a form of sound therapy designed to relax the mind and body. The vibrations from the instruments can help calm the nervous system reduce stress and fatigue and support the body’s natural healing process. During the session the sound healing practitioner used a range of instruments including gongs tuning forks crystals Himalayan singing bowls vocal toning and percussion. Each sound created gentle vibrations that moved through the body. As the session continued I could feel myself slowly letting go of tension.
